Anna Kendrick’s Oscar Hair

On the Red Carpet Sunday night, Anna Kendrick was one of the hottest to trot celebs. She’s on everyone’s best-dressed lists – but she’s on our best tressed. And she did so with a simple yet elegant updo, designed by stylist Craig Gangi.

Gangi, inspired by the graceful off-the-shoulder look, created an updo highlighting softly waved texture. He first applied argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to add moisture and give hair a soft hold.
After blow-drying hair straight, Gangi used a medium sized curling iron to create loose, natural waves. He then pulled strands back, leaving just enough hair at the nape of the neck to create a small ponytail, and shaped a loose, undone textured bun.

To add a touch of drama, he went back to weave three small braids with the remaining hair, then again braided the three with each other. Finally he circled the braid around the bun. After pinning the style, he sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to hold the look in place without stiffness, and misted the final updo with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for additional boost of red carpet shine.

Isn’t she gorgeous? On camera, and off!

Steal the Look: Oscar Curls

I had the AMAZING opportunity of flying out to LA to live-blog the Oscar Awards, and saw a ton of hot runway-inspired ‘dos. One such trend was big stars with even bigger curls. We all know Mariah Carey as a starlet of stage, but she was almost unrecognizable in her Precious role – a movie I loved, but not for the glamour! Mariah was glamour personified though as she strutted down the red carpet at the 2010 Academy Awards with curl-perfection.

Curl-master Ouidad, gave some tips on how to create this look:

  1. Apply a moisturizing gel, like Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Gel and dry hair with low heat
  2. Set large rollers on the top of the head and medium on the rest of hair
  3. Remove rollers and softly brush through with a wide natural bristle brush
  4. Run fingers through to separate the tendrils and curls will spring back to life
  5. Finish with Ouidad Styling Mist to set the look in place and Ouidad Shine Glaze Serum to smooth curls and add red carpet shine.

Va va voom! Have to say, if I could make my own curls look like that, I wouldn’t be relaxing them so often.
More tips coming soon!

Oscars 2010, Zoe Saldana Hair and Hairstyle

Zoe Saldana, the incredible star of Avatar, looked fabulous at the Oscar’s last night. Her sleek style and beautiful dress created the perfect package.

TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist Mara Roszak provided StyleBell with the simple how-to on how to get Zoe’s super-chic up-do. Mara said “We wanted to to have an editorial look because she was wearing Givenchy. We also didn’t want the hair and make up to compete with the dress so we created an elegant but effortless look.”

Step 1: Apply TRESemmé Naturals Lightweight Mousse all over damp hair and blow dry away from the face with volume, flipping head upside down when the hair is almost dry to finish.

Step 2: Separate the crown from the rest of the hair and pull back sides and back into a tight ponytail. Pull the hair almost all the way through, leaving the ends tucked into the pony tail holder to create a half bun shape. Let a few pieces in the back fall out for a messier look.

Step 3: Tease the top of the hair, pull back to meet the back and pin, criss-crossing the bobby pins for a secure hold.

Step 4: Spray all over with TRESemmé TRES TWO Extra Hold Hair Spray.

Step 5: My Stylist Secret: Spray hairspray on finger tips and gently pull the hair around the face with your fingers to loosen the hair, giving it an organic effortless look.

Oscars 2010: Amanda Seyfried Hair and Hairstyle

Amanda Seyfried had a magical look at the 2010 Oscar’s.  Her sleek back updo looked beautiful on her and worked wonderfully with the dress.  I will have to say I was hoping Amanda would sport a more youthful hairstyle but this traditional updo did make for a beautiful overall look.  I believe Amanda Seyfried will be on some of the best dressed lists.

Oscars 2010, Kate Winslet Hair and Hairstyle

<p style=”text-align: center;”><a rel=”attachment wp-att-3372″ href=”http://mystylebell.com/2010/03/07/oscars-2010-kate-winslet-hair-and-hairstyle/kate-winslet/”><img style=”border: 0pt none;” title=”kate winslet” src=”http://mystylebell.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/kate-winslet.jpg&#8221; alt=”” width=”391″ height=”557″ /></a></p>
At the<strong> Oscars 2010 Kate Winslet’s</strong> hair was majestic.  She has a stunning sleek 50’s look that looks so fabulous on her.  Simple yet sophisticated.   I am going to definitely recreate this look at home.  I always love <strong>Kate Winslet</strong> and she did not disappoint at tonight’s Oscar’s!

Oscars 2010: Jennifer Lopez

<p style=”text-align: center;”><a rel=”attachment wp-att-3362″ href=”http://mystylebell.com/2010/03/07/oscars-2010-jennifer-lopez/jennifer-lopez/”><img style=”border: 0pt none;” title=”Jennifer Lopez” src=”http://mystylebell.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Jennifer-Lopez.jpg&#8221; alt=”” width=”419″ height=”372″ /></a></p>
<strong>Jennifer Lopez</strong>looked like none other at the <strong>2010 Oscars</strong>.   As one of the presenters tonight, Jennifer Lopez looked simply stunning!  Her amazing dress coupled with a gorgeous Updo hair style was breathtaking.  Jennifer’s updo hairstyle was a simple messy updo which is quite unusual of Lopez.   It is normally sleeked back.   I actually enjoyed this look.

Oscars 2010, Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker
is complete perfection in her Chanel Couture and with her fabulous updo at the 2010 Oscar’s. It is a complete throwback that looks so Sarah. The large bow updo is something I haven’t seen in a very long time. Most could not pull this look off but our SJP does it with complete simplicity. The dress’s detail is one of my favs!

Oscars 2010, Sandra Bullock’s Hair

We are live at the 2010 Oscar’s and so excited to be here! Our first hair expose is Sandra Bullock. Sandra’s sleek brown highlighted hair looks healthy and simply gorgeous. I love how natural looks so beautiful on her. Bring back the flat iron and the argan oil! We are loving the sleek do.
