Homemade Hair Refresher To Go

conditionersNeed a hair refresher on the go?  I have discovered a great new hair tip that I had to share with you all.  If you have curly or wavy hair and you have noticed throughout the day it loses its pizazz try this hair refresher.  Take your everyday conditioner, about 2 tbsp, and mix with about 6 ounces of water. Put in a spray bottle and shake up.  Whenever you feel that your hair is frizzing out or needs extra bounce spray on your hair and leave in.  You can use this on your kids as well. A low cost way of keeping your hair beautiful.  I love it!

Avocado Oil, The Celebrity Secret to Soft Silky Hair

avocado hair treatmentDid you know that avocado oil is good for your hair? Yes, avocado oil can be used as an at home deep conditioning treatment.  Simply massage the oil on your scalp and hair in the morning.  Keep the oil in your hair all day if possible.  If not an hour or so will do as well.  Then wash your hair as normal.  You will love your silky smooth locks!

Lorie from Ford Models explains the benefits of using avocado oil to restore moisture to dry, overworked hair.

Another Reason to Love Aloe Vera, Hair Loss

Aloe VeraIs Aloe Vera the true cure all for every ailment under the sun?  I cannot attest to every ailment but Aloe Vera is fabulous for your hair and scalp and can even help to prevent hair loss!

Aloe Vera has been used for centuries as a remedy to cure and relieve common skin disorders in Native America, India, and the Caribbean.  This miracle plant has been used to help relieve skin and scalp disorders and keep hair healthy.

So what is the connection with Aloe Vera and hair loss you ask?  Aloe Vera is known to balance out the PH balance and stimulate the production of enzymes on your scalp which helps stimulate hair growth.  So if you are looking to prevent hair loss or just keep your locks healthy use this sure fire routine to keep your full head of hair on your head versus the bed!

Before going to bed, dab a bit of Aloe Vera on your scalp with your fingers or cotton ball. Massage in the scalp and hair.  Wash the next day.  If you would rather not sleep with the gel, put Aloe Vera in your hair first thing in the morning and then wash after an hour.  Remember longer is better!  You can find either Aloe Vera stalks at your local grocery store or nursery. Not into the natural stalks, use an over the counter Aloe Vera Gel.

The Hills go fresh with Alicia Keyes and Dove

Have you heard about the new go fresh product line from Dove? This new line hopes to inspire young women in their 20’s with a fresh perspective – to stop pressuring themselves to achieve it all in like ten minutes – and to recognize a wider definition of success and feel beautiful about themselves. We like that. A lot!

This fragrance-driven collection comes in three invigorating scents so you can select each one to match your state of mind: Refresh (waterlilly and mint), Energize (sparking grapefruit and lemongrass), and Cool off (green tea and cucumber). I could use a little Energize right now – LOL!

Keep an eye out for Dove’s new collection on…. The Hills! Yes, Dove has teamed up with MTV to present Fresh Takes, a new micro-series, starring Alicia Keys (love her!) which follows the lives of three roommates in their mid-twenties living in New York City. Sounds perfect for The Hills, no?

Wanna see the promo?

This fab new line includes body mists, deodorants, personal wash, hand and body lotion, and of course shampoos and conditioners – yay! You can watch the mini-series, and Alicia every week during The Hills. There will be five 3-minute episodes, each one touching on a pressure point of 20-something women: beauty, career, dating, family and friends.

I love, love, LOVE The Hills. I’m totally on team Lauren….

Having Fun with Hair Extensions

Longing for those long lovely locks? Try some hair extensions! In this video clip, Johnny Lavoy shows us how to attach hair clips (yep, a little sewing here!) to hair extensions. I’d definitely enlist a friend for this one – you’ll probably need some help sectioning and clipping the extensions to the back of your hair. Plus you want someone there to tell you how fabulous you look when you’re done, don’t you?
