Choosing the Correct Hair Color

Deciding on a new hair color isn’t always easy. How do you choose which color is best for you? Those tiny swatches on the boxes of hair color just don’t cut it, do they? Don’t be afraid to enlist some help from your stylist! Armed with a ton of hair-color swatches (and potions that help create these colors) a professional stylist is able to consult with you to help you find the color that works best with your skin tone and eye color. Don’t worry, my stylist has assured me that even if you don’t have your salon do the coloring for you, they are still happy to help you find an at home choice that will suit your strands. The best part? No more holding up the box to your head and asking a friend what she thinks. The video below shows some tips on how a stylist will help uncover the best haircolor for a client.

Tips for Creating a High Ponytail

A high ponytail is both stylish and sophisticated, but not if you pull your hair so tight it looks like you’re trying to give yourself a facelift. Stop straining those strands by pulling your ponytail to the extreme. A more sophisticated style is sleek and loose so you look pulled together, not stretched and severe.

Celeb Style: Giselle Bundchen

Giselle BundchenWhile a lot of us can only dream of looking like Brazilian bombshell Giselle Bundchen, most of us can recreate her carfree waves in a few simple steps. Practice making your own super sexy runway waves with a Hot Tools 1-1/2″ curling iron. The larger barrel will make coils carefree, not controlled for a more casual chic look. Everyone agrees this hairstyle works best on second day ‘dirty’ hair – so wash it the day prior to styling. Before curling, work a little Davines Defining Volume Mousse through your hair to help hold the curls. Then after curling, tug downward on each curl gently to relax it. After tugging, pull some sections out of each curl and separate the strands, giving your hair a more piece-y look. To tousle your style even more, after creating the curls and pulling them apart, use a little texturizing cream, turn upside-down and work through hair to ends to get that messy look with loads of extra volume. We’re talking Smokin’ hot.
